The sun snuck out

SO far the weather has been miserable and grey since Cat's arrival. we were really tired today, and decided not to do anything, but unfortunately it's the best weather we've had since she got here. The skies are blue, the sun is shining, the clouds are fluffy. But we are TIRED! we're going to head out soon, not sure what for, but have to experience the city without an umbrella.

We've been really busy!

~Happy Birthday to Cat!!~

OCTOBER 22 is really important. Because!!! It's CAT's BIRTHDAY!!!

We had a nice sleep in for the first time since her arrival, then went to Carnegies for a big breakfast. Wow, delish!! From there it didn't take much to decide what to do next. GO SHOPPING! Well, it was rainy.. what were two girls to do?

So i was a responsible big sister and introduced her to Gongguan. The disctrict near Taipei's National University. We shopped til we dropped..off the bags, got changed then had to go meet some of my students. They took us to the mountains last night for fantastic fresh shrimp. Lemon shrimp, Pepper shrimp, Miso shrimp soup, mmm.. We were so full when we left. But that wasn't before Cat had her first "squat toilet" experience. You haven't lived until..

After we ate, they drove us up to the top of the mountain where there was a beautiful lit-up waterfall and fairy lights and lanterns everywhere. It was magical, and freezing cold. We had a great time, got some fresh air, and then they dropped us off at our next desitination.. Taiwan Brewery Bar. I had to collect my refund and souvenirs for the Sun Moon Lake swim. I even got a certificate of achievement! Wow, that's one to frame.

After that... (it was short and sweet), we headed off to KTV! Cat has decided she really loves singing at KTV. We were there for almost 4 hours!!! What an exhausting evening. But we didn't come home and go straight to bed. There were cup-cakes to be eaten, so we relaxed on the balcony and listened to F.I.R until we couldn't keep our eyes open anymore.

Someone belongs here

..and by here i mean behind bars. have been seriously uninspired for the past two weeks because cristen and i were robbed. the ***holes stole my video camera FULL OF TAPE i might add, a tonne of money from cristen, and my bag with stuff in it, like a cute green sweater from new york. it had sentimental value...we're getting the locks changed and a security box.

The landlady is currently a suspect as she was hugely unhelpful and just told us not to leave valuables at home.GREAT i can become a bag lady and take everything worth two thoughts with me wherever i go. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of having a house?

Comforting, to know the solution is to turn homeless...
